Nairobi's Azimio Kingpin Reuben Ndolo Backs former Deputy Speaker Ken Ng'ondi for Speaker's Post

Former Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) Reuben Ndolo has entered the Nairobi Speaker’s contest campaign trail by throwing his weight behind former deputy Speaker Ken Ng'ondi for the position.   The veteran Politician who was Makadara MP and later Chairman of Athi water services board and President of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) is lobbying the Azimio-One Kenya alliance allied Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to rally their support behind Ng’ondi for the Nairobi Speaker’s post.   Ndolo went ahead to prevail upon the Nairobi County Service Board member Jack Owino who is in the race on an Azimio ticket to step down in favour of Ng’ondi.   “We need a united front as Azimio if we are to wrestle the post from our Kenya Kwanza rivals. Let’s support Ng’ondi for the post as he has been tried and tested by his experience as an MCA and deputy Speaker who can be trusted in navigating the Nairobi County Assembly effectively,” he said.   Ndolo said

A section of the newly elected members of the Mombasa County Assembly have called on Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Coast region National Executive Committee (NEC) member Gabriel Mghendi to vie for the position of County Assembly Speaker. The MCA’s-Elect drawn from various political parties vowed to support Mghendi on the floor of the house if he considers running for the position noting that his efforts to uplift the standards of football in the region had endeared him to the people and that by developing the sport, he was actively uplifting the lives of thousands of youths in Mombasa county. The Nairobi County Public Service Board member Jack Owino has complicated matters for the in the race for city’s Speaker’s post after Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance allied Members of County Assembly (MCAs) through their weight behind him.   The latest development has the spanner in the works of former Nairobi Deputy Speaker Ken Ngondi of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Jubilee’s Harrison Wangoro Mwangi leaving them in a spin   Consequently, Owiti has thrown his hat into the ring ready to battle for the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker’s position.   Owino entered the race after a section of the newly Members of County Assembly (MCAs) allied to Azimio their weight behind his candidature.   “I have decided to run for the post of the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker after MCAs prevailed upon me to contest. From Deputy, Ken Ngondi Set to Ascend to Nairobi County Speaker

Former Nairobi County Assembly Deputy Speaker Ken Ngondi is set to make a political comeback by ascending to the Speaker’s position of the newly elected assembly. Ngondi is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) sole candidate in the race for the Speaker’s position after being unanimously endorsed by the ODM and Jubilee elected Members of County Assembly (MCA). Ngondi has been preferred owing to his vast experience in the civic authority having served for two terms as the representative of Kware ward in Embakasi South constituency between 2007-2017. Before rising to serving as the Deputy Speaker under Alex Ole Magelo between 2013-17, he chaired the Health committee in the county assembly. The Nairobi based prominent comedy actor, model and politician has been selected  for nomination into the county assembly under the Jubilee party. Eunice Wambui aka Nyasuguta shelved her Clay City Member of County Assembly ambitions in favour of an opponent after negotiations in the Azimio coalition. The talented actor is set for nomination to represent and address challenges the youth and creative community face in the county assembly.
