Nairobi's Azimio Kingpin Reuben Ndolo Backs former Deputy Speaker Ken Ng'ondi for Speaker's Post

Former Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) Reuben Ndolo has entered the Nairobi Speaker’s contest campaign trail by throwing his weight behind former deputy Speaker Ken Ng'ondi for the position.
 
The veteran Politician who was Makadara MP and later Chairman of Athi water services board and President of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) is lobbying the Azimio-One Kenya alliance allied Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to rally their support behind Ng’ondi for the Nairobi Speaker’s post.
 
Ndolo went ahead to prevail upon the Nairobi County Service Board member Jack Owino who is in the race on an Azimio ticket to step down in favour of Ng’ondi.
 
“We need a united front as Azimio if we are to wrestle the post from our Kenya Kwanza rivals. Let’s support Ng’ondi for the post as he has been tried and tested by his experience as an MCA and deputy Speaker who can be trusted in navigating the Nairobi County Assembly effectively,” he said.
 
Ndolo said that was a good and accomplished administrator who can serve the Nairobi County very in the office and should stick there with even bigger roles and leave the Speaker’s post which is a political seat to politicians like Ng’ondi who has been there before as an MCA and Deputy Speaker.
 
“As Azimio we shall push for Owino for bigger posts in the Nairobi County Assembly administration because of his qualifications and experience,” he said.
 
 
Ndolo is a force and an authority in Nairobi politics where he was instrumental in the election of Amos Mwago of Jubilee as the Starehe MP who was facing formidable opposition from former Kamkunji and East African Legislative Assembly MP Simon Mbugua of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
 
Ndolo had been tasked by the Azimio secretariat to marshal votes for its presidential candidate Raila Odinga and the alliance’s candidates seeking elective seats in Nairobi.
 
Sources around city hall intimate that Azimio is working on an arrangement that will enable them to secure all the elective positions in the county to be shared among the Azimio coalition parties.
