Medical Expert Stanley Kyungu's Political Entry Injects Life Into Makueni



A youthful Senior Medical Imaging Technologist Stanley Kyungu has entered the Makueni parliamentary seat wth storm as he seeks to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Dan Maanzo.


According to the latest opinion polls, despite Kyungu being a political newcomer in elective politics vyeing on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has taken an early lead against his rivals.

Kyungu’s lead comes moments after former Sports Kenya chairman Fred Muteti dropped his Makueni parliamentary bid in favour of Kyungu.

Kyungu was endorsed by Ruto who rooted for Kyungu to vie for the parliamentary seat and appointed Muteti as UDA’s presidential South Eastern coordinator.


Recently, Deputy president William Ruto presided over another consensus between aspirants in Makueni parliamentary seat.

"Following the Nomination exercise in Makueni constituency and extensive consultations thereafter, Fred Muteti will become the presidential campaign coordinator for the south Eastern region and Kyungu Stanley will vie for the parliamentary seat in the August 9th General election," Ruto said.

Following the latest development, Kyungu has hit the ground running with campaigns to ensure that UDA captures the seat in former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka led Wiper Party’s ukambani stronghold.
“I present fresh youthful leadership transformation to transform the existing challenges facing Makueni constituency,” said Kyungu as he outlined his agenda by making available his manifesto to DemocraticKenya.com.


In his manifesto he intends to promote agri-business in Makueni by lobbying for incentives to enable farmers to farm at a low cost in order to improve the production of oranges and mangoes in a area where best quality of these fruits are produced.

“I will endevour for value addition and seek for markets to sell our agricultural produce,” said Kyungu.
Kyungu targets to tarmac 150km of the road in the constituency particularly the Ukia to Emali road.

The candidate as youth has put in plans of empowering the youth by establishing a talent centre as an incubation to nurture sporting talents.


Kyungu intends to improve education through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) by improving school facilities and establish a study donor fund foundation to finance education for the needy.

Given his medical background, Kyungu who attained a Master’s of Science (Msc) degree in Healthcare Management from UNICAF a United Kingdom (UK) accredited university has an ambition and a vision of being the healthcare ambasadeur in Parliament to promote the sector.
