Head of Firearms Criminal Enterprise on The Run, Being Pursued by DCI
A Nairobi businessman and communication consultant has asked the inspector general of police and the Director of Criminal Investigation, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Amin to investigate a Mr. Antony Kariuki. In a statement, Evans Wafula alleges that he lost Kshs. 460,000 to Mr. Antony Kariuki, in what he believed is a syndicate organized and run by Mr. Antony Kariuki. The syndicate involves senior officers from the firearms licensing bureau and a ring of criminal enterprise that include Mr. Antony Kariuki. According to Mr. Wafula, he has reported the matter to Kilimani Police Station and at Kyumbi Police station, and despite making formal complaints, the arrest and apprehension of Mr. Antony Kariuki and his accomplice have not been instituted. In June 2022, police arrested a businessman who was allegedly found in possession of a cache of weapons, including 22 high-calibre firearms and 565 rounds of ammunition.
