Imwatok Set to Clinch Makongeni Seat a Third Time

Nairobi, Saturday 14th May, 2022:Nairobi County Assembly Minority Cjief Whip and Makongeni Member of the County Assembly Peter Imwatok is expected to cruise to an easy win in Makongeni ward for a third consecutive time.

Having easily won the Orange Democratic movement (ODM) party primaries in the area, Imwatok is set to clinch the seat which is in an area dominated by the ODM party leader Raila Odinga and has for years now been represented by politicians associated Raila and his party.
The chances of Imwatok to clinch the seat analysts say are almost a guarantee given his past track record since being elected the area MCA in 2013. Imwatok has been an ODM party loyalist and has executed his minority whip roles in the assembly with distinction earning him the trust of the party hierarchy.

The Minority whip enjoys cordial relationship with the top ODM leadership including Raila Odinga.
Imwatok, whose leadership has invested in education in the ward, roads and his history of successfully negotiating for employment for several residents in his area, is tipped to be a leading candidate for the position of majority leader in the county assembly after the August 9th general elections.

Head of Firearms Criminal Enterprise on The Run, Being Pursued by DCI

A Nairobi businessman and communication consultant has asked the inspector general of police and the Director of Criminal Investigation, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Amin to investigate a Mr. Antony Kariuki. In a statement, Evans Wafula alleges that he lost  Kshs. 460,000 to Mr. Antony Kariuki, in what he believed is a syndicate organized and run by Mr. Antony Kariuki.  The syndicate involves senior officers from the firearms licensing bureau and a ring of criminal enterprise that include Mr. Antony Kariuki. According to Mr. Wafula, he has reported the matter to Kilimani Police Station and at Kyumbi Police station, and despite making formal complaints, the arrest and apprehension of Mr. Antony Kariuki and his accomplice have not been instituted.
