Makadara Mp Grabs School Land, Sells it to Church in His Last Days in Office

Buruburu estate residents are up in arms against an elaborate scheme by the Makadara Member of Parliament and a local church to grab land belonging to a public primary school in the area.

The residents came out of their houses in protest after they noticed a fence being erected at Baraka Primary School in Buruburu’s phase 3 estate.

The residents are up in arms after a contractor started to construct a wall fencing of a playing ground next to Baraka primary school in buruburu phase 3.

"Sasa hi kiwanja iko phase three na ni playing field na pia ni njia ya kujoin phase 3 to phase 5 Buruburu", a resident lamented.

According to reliable sources, Aladwa and the church are working together to construct the fence in the pretext that it is a Makadara Constituency Fund (CDF) project that is being undertaken on the school.

The contractor has proceeded to work on the purported project of fencing the school but has not put a notice board in accordance with law to indicate the details of the project including who is funding it.

The piece of land that is being fenced off is a route joining Buruburu Phase 3 which is being blocked to allow the residents walking on foot from accessing the area.

It also to cause a health hazard, pollution and affect the environment as the construction of the fence has damaged sewerage lines and drainage system.

The initiative is a deliberate attempt by the Makadara Mp to grab the land by falsifying documents that it is Makadara CDF initiating and is funding the project.

The move is one of the last attempts by Aladwa through the Makadara CDF to make money through theft as his term comes to an end as the area MP.

Rumors has it that this is only a start of grabbing the Baraka Primary School land with the Mp and a local Pastor planning to grab more space for the expansion of the church.

The church has earmarked a Ksh40 million construction project which is making the residents suspicious that the area Mp wants to make a windfall by grabbing the land and selling it to the church.

“Waah this very wrong, sitting MP Aladwa kua na utu,” protested Simon a Makadara resident on Facebook.

“This is unacceptable. I understand they have damaged sewer lines and residents houses all in the name of putting up a perimeter wall haraka haraka. This is what we get when the current MP is desperate to show people that he is doing something by doing nothing. Very very unfortunate,” complained Zakariah Wachira a Buruburu resident.

The residents protested the scheme and condemned the MP for being corrupt and even asked the anti-corruption commission to investigate the scam.

“We want Aladwa to be barred from contesting in the forthcoming elections for failing to pass the integrity test, He represents everything that is wrong for an elected MP ” they said.

In posts on social media including Facebook and Twitter they appealed to the people of Makadara constituency not to re elect the MP who has done nothing other than stealing from them.
