Katuku to Ensure Stalled Munyu Dam Project is Completed

Machakos senatorial frontrunner Hon. Mutua Katuku has regretted the stalling of Munyu Dam in Matungulu constituency which was to be completed 10 years ago.

Speaking to residents of Kyeleni area in Kyeleni ward, Katuku said that he had allocated funds for the construction of the dam during his tenure as Water minister.

It is very unfortunate that the outgoing county government did not follow up to compete the job thus denying the residents of Kyeleni a great water source for both agricultural and domestic use.
"It is very unfortunate that the outgoing governor did not prioritise agriculture. After completion Munyu dam will improve the agreproduction in this area. Funds for its completion is top on my priority in senate", Katuku reiterated.

He added, "this is a project not only for Kyeleni but even for the larger Machakos county. That is why Africa Development Bank agreed to finance the project".

"We have lacked legislation and oversight to follow up on such development matters in our county due to electing senators who don't understand their mandate. This will change once am in the Senate", said Katuku.
