Wanyonyi Officially Goes Back to Westlands Race
Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi has said that his dream to be Nairobi governor has only been differed but remains alive.
In an address to his supporters, Wanyonyi took to Facebook to announce that he is ready to serve as the Westlands MP for a third term and is firmly in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party and Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya Coalition.
My leadership journey has always been about serving the people. I look forward to serving the people of Westlands for the third term.This has been my philosophy for the past 15 yearsand I am confident that it will remain so,” Wanyonyi said.
“I have said before, it is not about me, it has never been about me , it will never be about me but it will always be anbout the people #SiMimiNiSisi,” Wanyonyi continued.
Wanyonyi thanked supporters for their steadfast support in the race for governor and promised, “The dream lives on”.
Kenyas online showered praises to the legislator applauding his decision to support the party’s choice of candidate.
Rebecca Owoko on facebook said “Sir, your leadership style is commendable. The people of Westlands are lucky to have you as their MP. May our good Lord bless you in all dimensions and increase you in Wisdom as you endeavor to lead the great people of Westlands for the third term.”
Pauline Wafula encouraged Wanyonyi to wait for his chance in the future. “When the time is right, God will make it happen. God will uplift you to that seat one day. Our prayers are with you always,” she said.

Wanyonyi was first elected to represent Westlands Constituency in the 2013 election on an ODM ticket and was again re elected in 2017. He boasts of accolades of the best performing MP in Nairobi for the last 10 years and will look to defend his seat in the 2022 General Elections to be held on August 9th.
Wanyonyi who already has a direct ODM ticket will now face the former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi of UDA party in the constituency largely seen as an ODM stronghold.
