Calystus Wafula Cleared by IEBC as Embakasi South MP Battle Takes Shape

Nairobi, Tuesday 31st May, 2022: Nairobi based politician Calystus Wafula has today been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to run for Embakasi South parliamentary as the battle lines are drawn for a gruelling race.

Wafula, who is vying for the first time, is set to hit the ground running after receiving his certificate with a meet the people tour in several areas in Embakasi South in the coming days.

Moments after submitting his papers, the renowned Embakasi politician and activist addressed the media promising adherence to the IEBC code of conduct.
“I am very happy and ready to engage with the people of Embakasi South. Now that I have been officially cleared as a candidate for MP in our constituency, the battle lines have been drawn and you will see a campaign drive like never before,” Wafula said.

Wafula has been at the forefront in campaigning for employment opportunities and conditions for Embakasi South residents as well as advocating for youth and women empowerment.
Wafula who is vying on a UDP ticket has also promised to drum up support for Azimio coalition Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga.
