Igathe Woos Luhya Community in Nairobi's Gubernatorial Bid

The Azimio la Umoja Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe took his campaigns to members of the Luhya community.

Igathe who was accompanied by his running mate Philip Kaloki met the community’s leaders drawn from Nairobi’s 85 wards in the city’s 17 sub counties.
The former Equity Bank Chief Commercial (COO) Officer meets the community two weeks after Westland's Member of Parliament (MP) Tim Wanyonyi of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) from the Luhya community stepped down in his favour under the banner of Azimio la Umoja coalition.
Igathe asked the Luhyas not to feel left out and promised that he will take care of their concerns as he addresses their interests.

The Luhya leaders gave Igathe a list of their demands that they need addressed once he gets elected as the Nairobi Governor on August 9th, 2022.
“I promise to work with you closely and ensure that your interests are well taken care of under my leadership. Please let’s walk the journey together and support me in by electing me as your next Governor in Nairobi,” said Igathe.
