Katuku, Waita Sign Working Memorandum With Machakos Teachers
Machakos senatorial aspirant Hon. John Mutua Katuku together with leading gubernatorial contender Hon. Nzioka Waita have signed a working memorandum with the teaching fraternity in the county.
During the function held on Monday 2nd May, 2022, the teachers drawn from various unions in the country agrred to support the two candidates in clinching their seats.
In the signed memorandum seen by Democratic Kenya, the incoming Senator and governor have promised to work closely with the teaching fraternity to raise the standards of education in the county which has been on a downward trajectory for the last ten years of the outgoing administration.
Speaking during the event Hon. Katuku who is a former Water and finance minister asked the teachers to vote for him and Waita since they are a product of good education and understand how to implement good practices to uplift the education standards in the county.
"Do not just vote for politicians. Look for learned leaders who can steer our education sector to the top", said Katuku.
Katuku who is vying on a People’s Trust Party ticket said that his party was in a working partnership with Hon Waita's CCU to deliver change to the people of Machakos.
