Makutano Mwala Infrastructure Development A Benchmark for Aspiring Ward Representatives

Makutano Mwala ward infrastructure development and face-lift has been termed as a benchmarking point for politicians aspiring to be ward representatives in the entire country.

A rural ward in the vast Mwala constituency of Machakos County, Makutano Mwala ward has seen tremendous improvements in its roads within the last five years under its current Member of County Assembly Hon Brian Kioko Kisila.
Hon. Kisila a renowned technocrat who hanged his corporate sector boots to serve as the ward's representative has accomplished what many would have thought to be a pipe dream in his first term in office.

From grading of more than 6000 kilometers of rural roads which were earlier inaccessible to reclaiming of grabbed road reserves, Hon. Kisila has proved that good leadership is the start of the end of suffering to his constituents.
The member of Machakos County Assembly who also had a stint as its leader of majority has also overseen building of culverts, streat and market security lighting installations to improve accessibility to markets and improve security in the local trading centers.

"It is through his efforts that now we can access markets to sell our produce without fear of been mugged or suffering broken limps traversing through impassable eroded roads", commented an elated resident of Kamwala location during our visit in the area.
"We never thought we could have proper roads traversing our villages. We even carried our sick to hospital and the dead for burial on our shoulders due to impassable roads and overgrown shrubs. Some of these roads you see today were even grabbed. Kisila is a blessing to our ward", said another happy village elder.

The former senior manager at telecommunication giant Airtel Kenya has received several awards as the best performing MCA national within the last 5 years of his tenure.

Speaking to Democracy Kenya, Hon. Kisila has his eyes set on a second term as MCA to finish up on the great work of 100% Road connectivity in the area.
"I will not rest until that goal is attained. My work is clearly cut out. Nobody should have difficulty in accessing trading centers, schools, hospitals or even their farm lands due to poor roads", said Kameni as he is popularly known by the residents.

Senior officers in the Ministry of devolution have applauded Hon. Kisila's efforts and termed Makutano Mwala ward as a real benchmark area for those MCAs intending to improve on their rural infrastructure.

Hon. Brian Kisila will be seeking his second term as MCA on a Maendeleo ChapChap Party ticket, a party in which he is also a senior council member.
