Senator Kwamboka Receives CBS Award
Nairobi, Tuesday 17th May, 2022: Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Senator Beatrice Kwamboka has today been presented with her medal of the first class Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) that was gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta during the occasion of Jamhuri day in 2021.
Kwamboka received her media form National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi at parliament buildings. This follows her recognition by the Head of State who issued the awards and decoration in recognition of distinguished and outstanding services rendered to the nation in various capacities and responsibilities.
The Senator, who is a leading member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and the Azimio La Umoja Movement has risen from a Member of the County Assembly to the Senate where she currently serves as the Minority deputy whip.
Senator Kwamboka was among the 14 MPs who were nominated for state awards in 2021.
The CBS award is given to public dignitaries, exemplary members of the public service and other professionals for distinguished services.

State awards are extended to a person who has otherwise brought honour, glory, and or pride to Kenya.
These are people who have exhibited or exhibit exemplary qualities, actions or achievements of heroism, sacrifice, bravery, patriotism or leadership for the defense, benefit or betterment of the country.
A person who has made an exemplary contribution to the country in the economic, social, scientific, academic, public administration, governance, sports, journalism, business, security or other fields also qualifies for the awards.
Kwamboka expressed her delight in the recognition. “I wish to thank the President of the republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta for this recognition. It is a great honour not only to me but the women of Kenya and the people of Nairobi,” Senator Kwamboka said.
