Moses Kuria, Julie Kabogo Assures Gikomba Traders of Their Support
Nairobi Senate Aspirant on a Chama Cha Kazi party ticket Julie Kabogo yesterday assured Mitumba traders in Gikomba market that she will work to safeguard their businesses.
Julie, who was accompanied by the Chama Cha Kazi party leader Gatundu South member of Parliament Moses Kuria in the Gikomba tour reassured traders at the populous market that their plight would be in safe hands once the Kenya Kwanza government led by Deputy President William Ruto ascends to power and told them to treat with contempt the sentiments by the Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga that his government would ban the trade on mitumba cloths.
Julie was officially introduced as the preferred Senate candidate for Nairobi by MP Kuria who asked Gikomba traders to vote for a common mwananchi.
Driven by the slogan ‘Kazi na Pesa’ which translates to (Work and Money in the pocket) both Kuria and Julie Kabogo rallied the traders to vote for Chama Cha Kazi candidates and ensure the common mwananchi has a voice at the highest table.
“Our businesses are good business and we are saying that every hustle matters. What we should look at is our welfare and that is why we are calling on you to vote for Julie and Chama Cha Kazi and remember it is about Kazi na Pesa,” Kuria said.
They were accompanied by other Chama Cha Kazi aspirants among them Gikomba/Pumwani MCA aspirant Ben Mbatia. The leaders termed mitumba business a multimillion business that must be supported and not killed.
Julie said that she will champion for the plight of small traders once she gets to the senate.
