Nairobi Senatorial Aspirant John Ochoti Lauds Azimio's Manifesto

Nairobi, Tuesday 7th June, 2022: Nairobi KANU Senate aspirant John Ochoti has lauded the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party Manifesto that was launched yesterday.

Speaking today, Ochoti said that the Manifesto was a clear indication of a bright future.
“We all listened to Raila Odinga’s vision for Kenya in his manifesto and I am very impressed with his agenda,” Ochoti said. “The issue of Baba care which will provide quality healthcare for every Kenyan is a program at the right time and will be very beneficial to Kenyans,” he added.

Raila has promised to develop a healthcare plan that will cover all Kenyans as well as introduce a social welfare program.

According to Ochoti, the program to help single mothers will be very beneficial to especially people in Nairobi’s slum areas.

Speaking on the Mitumba debate, Ochoti said that Raila did not threaten to close down mitumba business but revive the textile industry. “Even William Ruto just recently indicated that he will ban importation of mitumba.  Raila never said that he will ban Mitumba but will revive the textile industry to make local businesses more viable,” he said.

Head of Firearms Criminal Enterprise on The Run, Being Pursued by DCI

A Nairobi businessman and communication consultant has asked the inspector general of police and the Director of Criminal Investigation, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Amin to investigate a Mr. Antony Kariuki. In a statement, Evans Wafula alleges that he lost  Kshs. 460,000 to Mr. Antony Kariuki, in what he believed is a syndicate organized and run by Mr. Antony Kariuki.  The syndicate involves senior officers from the firearms licensing bureau and a ring of criminal enterprise that include Mr. Antony Kariuki. According to Mr. Wafula, he has reported the matter to Kilimani Police Station and at Kyumbi Police station, and despite making formal complaints, the arrest and apprehension of Mr. Antony Kariuki and his accomplice have not been instituted. In June 2022, police arrested a businessman who was allegedly found in possession of a cache of weapons, including 22 high-calibre firearms and 565 rounds of ammunition.
