I Am Firmly in The Isiolo North Race: Lucy Mworia

Meru, Wednesday 27th April, 2022: Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Coalition party National Coalition Executive Council (NCEC) second Deputy Treasurer and BUS Party Isiolo North parliamentary candidate Lucy Mworia, HSC has maintained that she is firmly in the race to become the next Isiolo North Member of Parliament during the August 9th 2022 general elections.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Mworia, the Devolution Empowerment Party (BUS party) Mount Kenya East regional coordinator dispelled the rumours that she had opted out of the race to work in the Azimio La Umoja secretariat.

“I want to categorically tell my supporters the people of Isiolo North that the propaganda being spread that I have stepped down is a total lie,” Mworia said.

“My appointment to serve as the Deputy National Treasurer to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Executive Council is an indication that I have the trust of the current government as well as the incoming administration. This means that I will be able to help the people of Isiolo North and bring development to my people when I get elected MP since I have a good network in government,” She said.

Mworia maintained that indeed, her quest to become the area MP has all along been to bring change and development in Isiolo North.
Mworia said that her appointment to the Azimio national office had propelled her to the top of the pecking order in the Azimio la Umoja-OKA within the upper eastern region and this has sent shivers down the spines of her opponents who have now resorted to spreading propaganda that she was opting out of the race.

Sources have indicated that one particular candidate has been notorious in spreading the rumours. The controversial businessman Mwenda Thuranira has been facing it rough after being driven out of Isiolo by the residents due to allegedly breach the privacy of residents by taking photos and spreading the images in various platforms in his campaigns which is not a true reflection of the ground.

Mworia said; “This guy thinks am the sitting MP and focuses on fighting me while there 13 other MP candidates in Isiolo North. He has no agenda or manifesto for Isiolo people because he is a total stranger and knows nothing about Isiolo people. He is in an imaginary world that they are only competing with Lucy Mworia. Now he really fears facing me at the ballot and is spreading the lies that I have withdrawn.”

Noting that the people of Isiolo cannot be destructed by cheap propaganda, Mworia said that she is a national figure and any changes in her political career can only be announced by her on national television not by incompetent bloggers.

“Tell Thuranira that he should concentrate on selling his manifesto if he has any and desist from making me his manifesto. He should know that I am already a brand,” Mworia said.
