"Keep Off From Igathe," Nairobi Azimio Aspirants Warn Kagure
“Stop this smear campaign shit against our Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Polycap Igathe,” Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance aspirants in Nairobi tell off business lady and independent candidate Ann Kagure.
The aspirants wondered why Kagure who is also supporting Azimio has concentrated her energies against Igathe and not bothered by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja who is running for the gubernatorial seat under the umbrella of the rival Kenya Kwanza alliance.
They said Kagure was a Kenya Kwanza mole in Azimio who was being used by Sakaja to fight Igathe and they will not allow that to happen.
“Our preferred Azimio candidate is Igathe and no amount of negative publicity will make us change our minds. We are telling Kagure to keep off and no matter what she does we shall not support her Nairobi gubernatorial bid,” they said.
The aspirants claimed that they were privy to information that Kagure has teamed up with Sakaja and was being used to fight Igathe from within the Azimio family for favours should the semnator win the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
“We know that she is being used to divide Azimio votes for Sakaja to have a leeway of penetrating to City Hall as the Nairobi Governor. We are going to make our Azimio supporters aware of her ill intended schemes so that they are not duped,” they said.
The aspirants advised Kagure to sober up and conduct her campaigns in a dignified, peaceful and mature manner by propagating her agenda instead of resorting to a smear campaign against her rivals.
“We respect Kagure as an astute and respectable business woman and intellect and don’t expect a lady of her caliber to stoop so low to that level. Let her style up and conduct herself with maturity during this campaign period,” they said.
The aspirants demanded that she stops branding herself as an Azimio supporter as she did not have the interests of the alliance at heart but ill intentions.
Kagure has gone on social media through bloggers by creating anti-Igathe messages which have been posted on fake media houses graphics to hoodwink and make members of the public think that it is real.
She is using graphics of Kenya’s leading media outlets and online platforms without their permission in passing anti-Igathe propaganda and messages.
Kagure is using graphics from leading communication outlets mostly Nation, The Star by using their sample graphics posters and videos complete with their logo to propagate negative messages against Igathe.
This are the same tactics Kagure had deployed against the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) president Richard Ngatia when they were competing for the Jubilee Party nominations for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat before Igathe was eventually awarded.
