Nairobi's Sports Minister Brian Mulama in Western to Lobby for Luhya Unity

The Nairobi County Talent, Skills Development and Care CEC Brian Mulama joined Luhya leaders in lobbying for the community’s unity.

Mulama joined Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi in calling on leaders from Western Kenya who supported Azimio la Umoja to consider working with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Mulama who is the Amani National Congress (ANC) Nairobi branch chairman called on the Luhyas to rally behind Mudavadi in taking the community to the “Promised Land of Canaan”.
Mulama was among other leaders present who joined Mudavadi during the 43rd Annual Maragoli Cultural Festival in Vihiga County,at Mbale Grounds who included Vihiga governor Wilbur Otichillo, University Education and Research Principal Secretary Beatrice Inyangala and legislators Omboko Milemba (Emuhaya), Dickson Maungu (Luanda), Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga Woman Rep), Didmus Barasa (Kimilili) and Clement Sloya (Sabatia).
“Through such a remarkable event, we can renew the call for our regional peace and unity in the bid to harness development,” he said.
The Maragoli Cultural Festival took place on Monday with politicians putting across a united front.
The festival takes place annually on December 26.
It showcases the culture and traditions of, not only the Maragoli, but the whole Luhya community that resides in Vihiga.
The festival is organised by the Vihiga Cultural Society.
Mulama took the opportunity to call on Kenyans to let go events of the last General Election and pull together for the development of the country.
Noting that the political season is over, Mulama said of importance at the moment is to let off events of the political season and focus on how the country can move forward.
“The Constitution gives power to those who were elected to be in office for the next five years. What is of importance now is to find out how best we can benefit from the government of the day. We must now move forward and build our country,” he said.
